DUBLIN, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1886. ENGLISH POLICE. Information sought as to the whereabouts of license- holder, Daniel Kendall, a labourer, native of Bally- money, county Antrim; 38 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches in height, proportionate figure, dark brown hair, gray eyes, fresh complexion, round - features. Convicted at Durham Assizes, 8th December, 1874, of rape, at West Hartlepool, and sentenced to 15 years penal servitude but released on the 16th ultimo, on license, and on the 2lst ultimo, notified going to Belfast, but has not reported himself there. WANTED, charged on Warrant with stabbing two Police Officers with intent to murder, on the night of the 28? h ult. :— 1. Thomas Towey, a collier, 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, blue eyes, proportionate build, very slight whiskers and moustache, or may be clean shaved, cross- eyed, one eye splints worse than the'olh'ef"; dresSea in collier's cap with peak, old blue reefer jacket, and clogs. 2. Mary Ellen Bates, aliases Parkinson, M'Guinness, and " Polly Pikelets," a prostitute, 18 years of age, looks older, 6 feet 1 inch high, very fresh complexion, dark brown hair, blue eyes, rather stout build, round full face, front hair been cut for fringe, but was growing long again ; dressed in dark broad brimmed hat, light print dress, white apron, small bright coloured shawl, and elastic side boots. They frequent low public houses and lodging houses, and tho woman plies her trade in a great measure among boatmen. Information to the chief Constable, hanley. WANTED on a Sheriff's Warrant charged with embezzlement of Trust funds to the above amount, Robert Henderson Ferguson, an Accountant, at 45, West Nile- street, in this city, about 33 years of age, 6 feet 8 inches high, deep ruddy complexion, fair hair, reddish fair moustache, otherwise clean shaved, dressed in fashionable clothing; when he absconded ho had on a navy blue overcoat with velvet collar, dark shooting- coat and lest, and striped trousers, respectable appearance. Is a prominent foot- ball player, fast in his habits, and somewhat addicted to drink. He. is unmarried, and resided at 4, Kelvin- grove- terrace, West, Glasgow. Absconded on 15th inst., and it is believed Jthat he will endeavour to leave the country. WANTED, charged, on Sheriff's Warrant, of breach of trust and embezzlement, or of theft, of a sum of money, amounting to £ 95 sterling or thereby, William Park, a stallion Groom, native of Aber- deen :— Aged • about 50 years, height 5 feet 9 inches « c- rt » reby,. dark- hair mixed with grev, swarthy com- plexion, long thin face, slight - side whiskers, shaved on chin, and of proportionate make; dressed when he absconded in a dark suit of tweeds, half worn, and doubled peak cap, but which may now be changed. The money of which Park, is accused of embezzling, or having stolen, was the total of charges earned in Forfarshire during past season by an entire horse, belonging to Mr. James Sutor, Farmer, Collie, Elgin- shire, of which he was in charge, and which he left in a stable in Keith, on way to Collie, when he absconded on 21st ultimo. Tt is earnestly requested that careful inquiry and search be made for accused, at cattle sales, horse markets, stallion stables, foreign bound vessels, and other likely places, and, if fjund, to have him appre- hended, detained, and information wired to the subscriber, when he will be sent for. DESCRIPTION of James Simpson ( tramp), native pbice unknown, said he came from Antrim, who stands charged with having, on the 20th September, 18 « 6, at Dunclug, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Kirkinriola, seriously assaulted James Gordon, by striking him on the head with a stone, thereby endangering his life:— Pockpitted, tanned, weather- beaten face, blue eyes, hooked nose, swarthy tanned, complexion, regu'ar face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 35 years of age, fair hair, large sandy moustache, no beard or whiskers; wore no hat, gray tweed coat, dark cord trowser?, gray tweed vest, workhouse clothes, " Ballymena Union" branded on them. DESCRIPTION of a man, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 7th September, 1886, in the barony of Moyarta, parish of Kilmackduane, entered the cottage of Larry M'Donnell, of Moyne, and taken therefrom a gun:— This man is much tattooed in blue on back of hand, the left, and about wrist, active appearance, hardy complexion, slight make and erect figure, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 24. years of age, lightish brown hair almost fair, slight moustache, unshaven look round jaw when offence was committed; wore a hard round felt hat, gray round cut coat, dark trowsers torn at each side of seat, he wore strong boots with a small hole cut in the upper of one of them. Description of the gun :— Single barrel muzzle- loading with ramrod attached, stock cracked near small of butt, and small piece of tin placed across cracked part, and wire bound round, two brass bands, old gun. kilrush, Sept. 11, 1886. DESCRIPTION of a man and woman, names and native places unknown, believed from accent to be Clare or Limerick, who stand charged on suspicion with having, on the 19th day of August, 1886, in the barony of Bunratty Lower, parish of Kilnasoolagh, deserted a male infant about 4 months old, by leaving it on tho roof of a pig. stye in the townland of Lattoon South. 1. Smart hardy appearance, rather square shoulders, active make, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, regular face, medium make, five feet nine inches high, about thirty years of age, sandy hair, no beard or whiskers, moustache sandy or reddish- brown colour; wore a hard felt hat, dark sack coat, and light coloured trowsers; had his socks pulled over the bottom of trowsers, laced or highlow boots; has the appearance of a carpenter or mason, more like the latter. This man stated that he had left Limerick and was going to Ennis to look for work. 2. Strong hardy appearance, regular nose, fresh complexion, rather broad full face, medium make, five feet three inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark shawl and dress; appeared to be the wife of No. 1. DESCRIPTION of Francis Greene, native of Carrow- more North, who stands charged with having, on the 26th July, 1886, in the barony of Ibricken, and parish of Killard, threatened to shoot William Browne, and presented a loaded gun at him :— Has & black eye, swaggering gait, and generally keeps his hands in trowsers pocket, small gray tender eyes, hooked nose, sandy complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 itches high, about 34 years of age, sandy hair; wore an old brown hard hat, gray tweed coat and trowsers, flannel vest; is a labourer. STOLEN from the dwelling house of Hugh Gordon, of Brickland, barony of Upper Iveagh, and county of Down, on 16th day of September, 1880 :— A lady's gold lever watch, white dial, hands rather loose, with initials " M. F." on back, a silvor chain, a pair of gold tleeve studs one slightly broken, a pair of gold earings with black stone setting, and a pair of plain gold rings. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Edwards, native of Bridge- Street, Newry, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of September, 1886, in the barony of Lower Castlercagh, parish of Holywood, stolen from the house of Colonel M'Cance, Knocknagoney, a silver box, value for £ 1:— Wants left arm, wore all his beard cut short and turning gray, hazel eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, Regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark turning gray hair; wore an old black coat, trowsers and vest. DESCRIPTION of a double- barrelled breechloading pin- fire gun, a six- chambered breechloading revolver, and a meerschaum pipe, the property of John Rattray, steward to Mr. P. Mahony, Esq., M. P., Kilmorna, which were stolen from the house of the above- named Rattray, in the townland of Kilmeany, parish of Knockanure, and barony of Irraghticonnor, on the 11th July, 1886 :— 1. A double- barrelled pin- fire breechloading gun, had a hole large enough to admit a darning needle being passed through in left barrel, seven inches from muzzle ; value for £ 1 10s. 2. A six- chamberedbreechloading revolver, maker's name Welby, London, - 450 bore loaded with ' 442 cartridge in five chambers, and ' 450 bore cartridge in one chamber, enclosed in a brown leather case with belt attached, " Pierce Mahony " faintly marked on inside of case with a pin; value for £ 4- 3. The man, name and native place unknown, described in the Hue- and- Ory of 9th February, 1886 i charged with having set fire to a rick of hay), has not been arrested. King's DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st September, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's County:— John Cahy, No. 872 ; about 18 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, strong make, dark com- plexion, dark hair almost black, dark eyes, cocked nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage, blue mark on left forearm. Formerly belonged to 1, Killen's- place, Belfast, parents reside at 1, Killen's- place, Belfast.! The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of black Scotch cap, dark blue tunic, dark trowsers, leather belt, and strong boots. This boy is a tailor, he belonged to the band and plays the cornet. Was making towards Mullingar, with absconder M'Cotter, will probably change his dress. The Manager of the Reformato^ will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st September, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's county:— William M'Cotter, No. 906, 18 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, strong make, fresh almost ruddy complexion, light hair, light eyes, ordinary nose, regular mouth, oval visage, scar on nose and two on the forehead. Formerly belonged to Quinn's- court, Belfast The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of:—- Black Scotch cap, dark blue tunic, dark trowsers, leather belt, and strong boots ; is a shoemaker by trade, was seen with Cahy, making towards Mullingar. Both boys will probably change their clothing. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Cullinan, native of Clare- morris, county Mayo, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd July, 1886, in the barony of Garrycastle, parish of Rynagh, obtained money by false pretences, viz.:— By representing that he still collected money for L. Faller and Co., Athlone, from whose employment he had been dismissed some time ago:— Slightly pockpitted, bald on the top of head, small side whiskers, and dark moustache, gray eyes, short nose, dark complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 41 years of age, dark hair cut short; wore a soft brown hat and gray tweed suit; is a commercial traveller; is known to the Constabulary in adjoining counties. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st July, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's County:— Michael M'Crudders, 1061, 13 years of age, 4 feet 9 inches high, medium make, fresh complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, cocked nose, regular mouth, oval visage, formerly belonged to Derryhullock, Randalstown, county Antrim, where his parents reside. The school dress, all with reformatory stamp, consists of corduroy trowsers, vest, and tunic, elastic belt, blue cloth cap ( Scotch make), and blucher boots, No. 1061. Faherty, from off his lands of Sheenagb, in above barony and parish:— Slovenly gait, dark brown eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 19 years of age, fair hair ; wore a round hard hat, tweed coat, moleskin trowsers, and - tweed vest is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of Michael Burke, native of Feda- more, who stands charged with having, on the 9th September, 1886, in the barony of Owneybeg, parish of Abington, seriously assaulted John O'Neill, by fracturing his skull, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight active make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair, small dark moustache; wore a straw hat, dark striped tweed coat, trowsers and vest; is a labourer. The person who gave the name of Andrew Cotter ( obtaining goods by false pretences), described in the Hue- and- Cry of 13th instant, has not been arrested. Londonderry. DESCRIPTION of Robert Kearney, native of Ardtrea, cookstown, county Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the 2lst July, 1886, at Bogtown, in the barony of Coleraine, and parish of Dunboe, stolen a silver watch and gold chain, £ 2 10s. in money, and a bundle of clothes, from the person of Robert John Ferguson:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, long face, slight make, 5 feet 8j inches high, about 23 years of age, dark brown hair, small moustache ; wore an old velvet cap, long black cord overcoat, gray trowsers ; is a labourer; deserter from 6th Brigade, North Irish Division, Royal Artillery. I DESCRIPTION of three head of cattle, the property of Thomas M'Fadden, of Ashlittle, in this sub- district, which were stolen from the lands of Ballin- loughan, parish of Louth, and barony of Louth, on the night of the 7th or morning of 8th September, 1886:— 1. One and a- half year old bullock, red and white, speckled or roan colour, short thick horns, fore knees swelled, in good condition, and value for about £ 6. 2. One and- a- half year old bullock, yellow colour with white spots on sides, short horns, in good con- dition, and value for about £ 4 10s. 8. DESCRIPTION of John Curreen ( mother's surname Farragher), native of Cloongowla, who stands charged with having, on the 27th July, 1886, in the tarony of Kilmain, parish of Ballinrobe, seriously assaulted his father Michael Curreen, and en- dangering his life by kicking him and with having robbed him of £ i :— Very broad squaro shoulders, hollow ehest, shaved face, square jaws, long dark straight hair brushed back, determined looking, has a head like an actor or an American, short straight forehead, blue or steel gray eyes, short sharp nose, sallow complexion, athletic make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 45 years of age; probably wore a dark gray frieze coat, black trowsers, black double- breasted vest of twilled cloth ; is a farmer.
